POSITION DESCRIPTION: The Marketing Department develops strategies and implements solutions in support of Service Credit Union’s business services, consumer, and military market segments in the US and Germany, as well as the company overall. The Content Manager, leads the development and execution of the company’s social media strategy and related activity in support of business and brand objectives.


This position is also responsible to direct the Social Media and the Email function within Marketing, ensuring a meaningful, measurable contribution to Service Credit Union. Partners with Vice President, Marketing and business stakeholders to develop and implement an overarching content strategy, in support of member retention and growth. Serves as a key member of the Marketing management team.






Corporate Content Strategy


Conceive and test social and email strategies, arriving at topics and content that resonate with target audiences.


Craft and issue social and email content in support of events, sponsorships and promotional activity domestically and abroad.


Collaborate with Marketing Program Analyst to assess performance across platforms, revealing insights that can be used to inform future strategies.




Oversight of vendor relationships and contractual agreements, as applicable.


Community Management


Administer corporate editorial calendar, crafting and issuing targeted messages by audience and channel.


Dynamic engagement with target consumers across social channels to strengthen relationships with existing customers while increasing awareness among prospects.


Identify key influencers within retail banking/financial services; follow them on social platforms in order to foster relationships that will increase SCU’s visibility and credibility in the industry.


Manage SCU’s presence across platforms; partner with Creative Services to audit and enhance our various profiles—elevating the look and feel of the company’s online presence for a cohesive brand experience.


Establish standards and administer training for SCU employee engagement on social platforms.

Email Marketing


Able to lead to design, create, and execute email marketing campaigns to drive member-focused outreach, engagement and retention.


Develop and execute high-level email strategies to deliver messaging to members and partners.

Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop and maintain best-in-class tool to deliver digital messaging.

Work closely with and stay in constant communication with member services teams, corporate communications and other related member and communication engagement teams.


Facilitate special projects as directed by management and the business.

Monitor, track, analyze, and report campaign performance, provide key findings to management (and other stakeholders) and utilize the results to refine and improve future campaigns.

Support marketing automation systems, including working with vendor and technology support to troubleshoot issues, coordinating releases, identifying and recommending enhancements.


Social Listening & Reporting


Ongoing social listening and response to community, as well as corporate response to trade articles and posts.


Set-up keyword tracking and follow conversations to identify trends and topics that feed the development of new content to be issued to target audiences by SCU.


Monitor consumer opinions and conversations, responding to questions, comments and customer concerns, as appropriate.


Follow competitors to keep pace with new product offerings and/or positioning; cascade insights to Marketing team colleagues to further inform program strategies and solutions.


Monitor online ratings and reviews to ensure that SCU’s reputation is intact, working with Vice President, Marketing to address significant issues without delay.


Surface new business opportunities that may arise through social listening to the appropriate colleagues within the credit union.


Develop reporting indicating the total “mentions” SCU receives each month and the tenor or sentiment associated with the majority of those mentions, as well as the platforms and audiences that are most engaged.


Corporate Adherence


Maintain confidentiality regarding credit union policies and procedures, member financial data, personal information, and work-related events.


Provide quality support and maintain a professional relationship with peers, management, other staff, and members through cooperation, mutual trust and respect.


Perform other duties as required.






A solid portfolio combined with a minimum of three years’ experience in graphic design and/or studio production.

Familiarity with creative workflow processes including briefings, development/execution, and production across various forms of media.

Experience with email automation platforms such as Marketo or Hubspot.

Ability to succeed under pressure, managing multiple concurrent projects and making quick-turn updates and changes to various types of output.

Customer oriented with exceptional attention to detail, organizational and communication skills.

Positive, collaborative, flexible disposition; equally adept at working independently or as part of a team.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) as well as Adobe Creative Cl Minimum of seven years in marketing communications and/or advertising with at least three years focused on social media/email/content marketing.

Expertise in email copy writing, measurement and content development to engage audience and drive member communications.

Deep understanding of social media platforms including how to leverage each to engage specific audiences (e.g. Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, YouTube, etc.).

Experience crafting and curating content including social posts and blogs, as well as developing corporate editorial calendars and publishing schedules.

Understanding of general business strategy, project planning and partnership practices—leveraging depth of marketing communications acumen to enable sound strategies and decision making.

Understanding of creative services—print, digital, video, multimedia, photography, design and copy.

Exceptional written communication, combined with strong interpersonal skills. (Writing samples required.)

Ability to work independently to address issues and mitigate risks; ability to demonstrate warmth and responsiveness while maintaining objectivity and professionalism.

Understanding of SEO including keyword search practices; results oriented with solid analytical abilities including application of Google Analytics.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint). Experience working with and potentially evaluating social media management software (SMMS) is a plus.oud




Bachelor’s degree required—ideally in business, marketing, or mass communications/advertising
