Job Details

The Construction Project Manager is responsible for all aspects of construction and/or renovation projects. In this role he/she will plan, organize and control all activities related to the construction process.  This position reports to the Facilities Planning office but may be assigned, as needed, to the Facilities Engineering and Operations team.


 

Major Responsibilities:

 

  • Coordinates construction activities with all stakeholders during the construction process. Serves as a liaison with contractors, architects, engineers, regulatory agencies, Facilities Engineering & Operation staff, Materiels Management, equipment suppliers and other parties as required.  Participate in the design process providing budget, schedule and constructability input.
  • Manage projects from conceptual stage through completion. Including but not limited to: collaborating throughout the design process, soliciting bids when required, building the schedule and budget, execution, monitoring & controlling and close-out.  Projects may include internal and/or external resources.
  • Prepares and maintains a variety of departmental records and reports. At the conclusion of projects the incumbent is responsible for all aspects of project close-out.  Reports are required for: adherence to schedule, cost, and performance and change proposals/orders.  Responsible for recording scope/time/cost and refining data which will be used to estimate future projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify project risks, develop risk mitigation and contingency plans, and implement action plans to reduce or eliminate risks. Responsible for securing Infection Control Risk Assessment (ICRA) and Interim Life Safety Measures (ILSM) permits prior to the beginning of the project and also performs compliance reviews and records for the duration of the project.
  • Tracks progress of each project against goals, objectives, approved budgets and schedule. Reports status and variances.  Develops detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans and status reports.  Works with contractors to assure adherence to schedule and budget.
  • Responsible to review all facets of the project including but not limited to coordinating the furnishings and purchased equipment installations and all associated utilities.
  • Insures compliance with regulatory agencies including but not limited to: JC, DNV, CMS, NH DHHS, NFPA, EPA, ADA, local building codes and authorities having jurisdiction.
  • Applies Lean/Quality concepts to all work situations.   Displays strong relationship / teamwork skills in performance of job duties.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in various phases in various locations at any given time. Work with facilities engineering and operations teams to coordinate utility and safety system disruptions as required.
  • Experience with Project Management Information Systems, CMMS and MS Office software.

 

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree
  • 5 to 7 years of direct experience
  • Supervisory/Management experience
  • Certified Healthcare Constructor (CHC) required within one year of employment
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred
